Haseena RazakAssistant Teacher, Younger Preschool
Haseena has been teaching preschool aged children for the last seven years. Before joining  Mills College Children’s School, she taught at The Model School in Berkeley, beginning there as a Floater Teacher working in infant, toddler and preschool classes, and was later promoted to Lead Teacher.
Although she has lived in Oakland for almost two years, Haseena feels she needs to explore her new hometown much more! She moved to the Bay Area in November 2019 and has not yet had much opportunity to travel around the Bay Area. Before moving to Oakland, Haseena lived in Colombo, Sri Lanka (where she is from) and worked as a Special Education Teacher and a Preschool Teacher for about five years. This was after she had worked as a journalist, travel writer, and documentary producer for eight years. Having felt like she had exhausted her experiences in her initial career, Haseena received a Masters Degree in Applied Psychology, a Diploma in Preschool and Montessori Education, and a Diploma in Special Needs Education.
Haseena loves traveling in her spare time. She took a year off work to explore her home country, Sri Lanka, in 2013. One of her favorite travel experiences thus was a solo trip she took to Turkey!
