Marijke ConklinHead Teacher, Third Grade

    Marijke is returning to MCCS after a year teaching in Brazil. Before joining MCCS in 2017, Marijke taught for ten years in Oakland Unified, first as a Special Education teacher and then as a Spanish Dual Immersion teacher. She worked as a curriculum consultant for Expeditionary Learning and has facilitated educator workshops in Mexico and the US. Marijke grew up in Saudi Arabia and Washington, DC. as well as lived in Honduras and Ecuador. She graduated from Barnard College in New York City and holds a Masters Degree in Philosophy and Education from Columbia University. Marijke enjoys learning languages, traveling, reading and exploring nature with her family.
