Maurice Huff is passionate about education, social justice, and service. A Virginia Beach, Virginia native, Maurice graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a B.A. in Sociology and Communications. He spent time in New Orleans and Virginia working food service industry jobs before serving two AmeriCorps VISTA terms; his first as a Wellness Coordinator for New Orleans based homelessness nonprofit Depaul USA New Orleans, and second as a Marketing & Communications Coordinator with Oakland based national children’s literacy nonprofit Reading Partners. Maurice has also enjoyed volunteering as a tutor at Homer Plessy Charter School in New Orleans, and educating children about healthy living as an ADA (American Diabetes Association) summer camp counselor at the Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center in New Orleans.
